O site norte-americano especializado em cinema IndieWire divulgou, nesta quinta-feira (18/9), a lista de previsões para os indicados ao Oscar 2026. Dentre os citados, estão Wagner Moura (“O agente secreto”) na categoria de Melhor Ator e Kleber Mendonça Filho (“O agente secreto”), nas categorias Melhor Roteiro Original e Melhor Diretor.

Na previsão, o IndieWire divide as categorias em cinco tópicos: “favoritos”, “contendores”, “tiros de longo alcance”, “em um mundo perfeito” e “o tempo dirá”. Wagner Moura é citado como favorito na categoria de Melhor Ator. Já Kleber Mendonça, aparece como contendor nas categorias de Melhor Diretor e Melhor Roteiro Original. 

Em maio deste ano, “O agente secreto” foi premiado no  Festival de Cannes. Wagner Moura recebeu o Palma de Ouro de Melhor Ator e Kleber de Melhor Diretor, além de dois prêmios paralelos: o Fipresci, da Federação Internacional de Críticos de Cinema, e o Prix des Cinémas Art et Essai, reconhecimento de exibidores independentes da França.

O filme é ambientado em 1977, no Recife, durante a ditadura militar. A trama acompanha Marcelo (Wagner Moura), pesquisador e cientista que foge após ser jurado de morte por um oficial do regime militar. Na capital pernambucana, ele se abriga na casa de uma senhora que acolhe perseguidos políticos e cidadãos marginalizados, formando uma rede improvisada de resistência.

O longa-metragem “Pecadores”, de Ryan Coogler, ainda é citado como um dos principais nomes na categoria de Melhor Filme, considerando três fatores: críticas positivas, um diretor “atrasado” e grande arrecadação de bilheteria. 

“Hamnet” da diretora Chloé Zhao, “It was just an accident” de Jafar Panahi, filme vencedor do Palma de Ouro no Festival de Cannes e “No other choice”, do diretor Sul-coreado Park Chan-Wook, também são citados pelo veículo na disputa pelo Oscar.
